1. Scope
This policy covers aiOS Presence, an optional feature that can use your device’s camera to detect your blood-volume pulse (“pulse signature”) so that only you can authorize certain assistant actions. A pulse signature is a biometric identifier. This is our written policy for how that data is collected, retained, and permanently destroyed. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
2. What Presence reads
- A short camera capture of your fingertip (or, on supported devices, a heartbeat sensor reading) processed into a pulse waveform.
- A compact mathematical template of that waveform (beat shape and rhythm features). This template is the only thing stored.
- Raw camera frames are processed transiently in memory and are never saved, uploaded, or shown to anyone.
3. Consent
Presence is off by default. Before any capture, we show a consent screen that names the data (a pulse biometric), the purpose (confirming you are present and authorizing your own actions), where it is stored (your device), and how to delete it. Presence never activates without your explicit opt-in, and you can revoke consent at any time.
4. Storage & transmission
- Your pulse template is stored only on your device(in the app, inside the operating system’s secure keystore).
- It is never transmitted to aiOS servers, never backed up by us, and never leaves your device. AI Genesis LLC does not receive, hold, or possess your biometric data.
- Verification happens entirely on-device: the live reading is compared against your stored template locally, and only the yes/no authorization result is used by the assistant.
5. Retention schedule
Your pulse template is retained on your device only until the first of:
- you tap “Forget me” in Presence settings;
- you disable the Presence feature;
- you delete the aiOS app from your device; or
- you delete your aiOS account.
Because the template exists only on your device, uninstalling the app destroys it as a matter of course. We retain no server-side copy at any time, so there is nothing for us to retain or destroy on our side.
6. Destruction
“Forget me” permanently deletes the stored template from your device’s secure keystore immediately and resets all Presence authorizations. Deletion is immediate and irreversible; re-enabling Presence requires enrolling again from scratch.
7. No sale, no sharing, no advertising
We do not sell, lease, trade, share, or otherwise profit from biometric data — and because it never reaches us, we could not. Biometric data is never used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or model training. Ever.
8. Honest limits
Presence is a presence and consent factor— it confirms a live, enrolled person is physically present and deliberately authorizing an action. It is not a substitute for a password or passkey, is not vault-grade security, and is not a medical device. Heart-rate numbers shown during capture are visual feedback only, not health data.
9. Minors
Presence is available only to users 18 or older. We do not knowingly enable biometric capture for minors.
